I was born into a family of diverse backgrounds and outstanding talents, a constant source of inspiration to me.
My grandfather, Xanthos Lyssiotis, was not only a successful businessman but an award-winning poet, honored for his contribution to Greek Literature. When I was still a child, he would read his poems to me before anyone else, and take me with him to literary events where I met writers and intellectuals.
My father, Renos Lyssiotis, is a successful businessman, lawyer, and published author, a highly respected and important figure in the Cyprus Republic’s liberation struggle of the 1950s. I encouraged him to write and publish his first book on memoirs of that era , by giving him a book i compiled of his various speeches and interviews as a Christmas present, named Giganties Psixes.
My mother, Miriam, was born in Romania to a wealthy entrepreneurial family and then to Cyprus where she married my father. She was an enterprising and creative businesswoman who founded the renowned Nicosia fashion boutique, Tiffany, the first to import designer wear into Cyprus in the 1970s.
Raised within such a family, it was natural that I should make my own journey into creative and business adventures. After obtaining my master’s degree in Commercial Law at the University of Bristol with honours, I gained experience in the office of the Attorney General of Cyprus, and in leading law firms. I was admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association, ranked second in the bar exams.
The family business soon attracted me, and after a year I joined the Lyssiotis Group of Companies, as well as establishing my own law firm, Vera Lyssiotis LLC. I became a partner in my father’s Trademark Bureau, specializing in Intellectual Property; My thesis on Copyright Infringement was published on copyright System in Cyprus and in England in «Τhe Cyprus Law review» , December 1990, issue No 32. I became very active in the family business dealing in pharmaceuticals, vaccines and medical disposables as well as brand name cosmetics, perfumery and sunglasses.
Simultaneously I worked with my amazing mother, Miriam Lyssiotis, in her fashion business, accompanying her on purchasing trips to Paris, Milan, and New York. As my mother gradually withdrew, I took over the administration of Tiffany fashion boutique in Nicosia and founded the highly successful Tiffany Concept Store in Limassol.
Details of all my activities, and relevant testimonials, can be found in my PORTFOLIO.
I love to innovate, to organise, to link the right people together, to travel and make new connections. I have built a wide network of loyal clients, customers and contacts inside and outside Cyprus, and am always on the lookout for new challenges, new projects to develop and bring to fruition, new concepts to introduce to the expanding Cyprus marketplace.
In my personal life I am passionate about art and photography, family and friends, travelling and our four (4) dogs!
